About This Tour
Rwanda is a small country with a remarkable density of primate experiences. This 7-day itinerary covers the full spectrum: mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest — one of Africa's oldest and most biodiverse montane rainforests — and golden monkey tracking in the Virunga bamboo zone. Nyungwe is the jewel in Rwanda's conservation crown. The 1,019 km² ancient forest harbours 13 primate species including large troops of colobus monkeys, and an extraordinary canopy walkway suspended 60 metres above the forest floor that offers one of Africa's most extraordinary perspectives. Combined with gorilla trekking and the luxury lodges of the Virunga foothills, this is one of the most sophisticated wildlife itineraries in Africa.
