Weather & Seasons
The Maldives has two monsoon seasons. The northeast monsoon (November–April) brings the best weather with calm seas. The southwest monsoon (May–October) brings more wind and rain but many resorts remain open.
Northeast Monsoon
Nov – Apr
Calm seas, clear skies, and 30m+ visibility underwater. Prime season for diving and snorkelling.
Shoulder Season
May & Oct
Transitional with some wind and showers but still very good conditions. Better value rates.
Southwest Monsoon
Jun – Sep
More wind and rain with rougher seas. Manta ray season peaks. Good value available.
